FAQ

Frequently asked questions:

What are the session fees for physical therapy?

Physical therapy sessions are $125 per one hour, one on one session. The fee is payable by check or credit card at the time of the session. I am an out of network provider with insurance companies, and I will be happy to assist you with the necessary codes/forms for you to submit to your insurance plan for reimbursement.

If you’re planning on submitting to your insurance company, call your company’s customer service number to find out the requirements for out of network benefits for your specific plan. Most insurance plans require a doctor’s prescription for insurance coverage of physical therapy visits.

How do I set up an initial physical therapy evaluation?

Please contact me here, or by phone at 202-441-2868.

I see clients in two locations:

On Wednesdays, I’m at 1712 I (“Eye”) Street NW, suite 305. This is right off the Farragut West (Blue/Orange) and Farragut North (Red) Metro lines.

I also see clients in Takoma Park:

You’ll be bringing your instrument to your sessions. There is a professional grade keyboard in the Takoma Park studio for pianists.

Why are you an out of network provider?

I strongly believe that your therapy treatment should not be determined by insurance companies, and that my time is best spent focused on your treatment. In addition, I believe you should never be double booked or crammed into a 20-30 minute slot of one on one time, which is what most insurance-participating physical therapy offices have to do in order to get in enough patients to pay their bills. The actual charge to the insurance company (or yourself, if you are self pay) for visits like this can range from $250-$400 or more per visit. Having worked in all kinds of settings for a decade, I can tell you that I can get better results, in fewer visits, in an individualized, calm atmosphere for much less money.

What is the fee for an ergonomics consult?

Skype ergonomic consultations are $65 for a 30 minute session. Please keep in mind that this is for assistance with instrument positioning or to set up a safe practice schedule, and is not a substitute for an in-person doctor or physical therapy visit. We’ll chat via email beforehand to determine if this is the most appropriate route for you or if you need medical consultation.

You’ll need a Skype account, camera, and microphone to participate.
